Leeds Green Gateways is a circular route from Otley heading south towards Leeds, connecting many of the green spaces between the two, with a surprisingly small amount of road walking. The Gateways takes you from the historic market town of Otley right to the very edge of Leeds city centre before returning through the Meanwood Valley, discovering hidden gems on the way. Some of the parks visited include Golden Acre Park, Horsforth Hall Park, Hyde Park, Nunroyd Park and Yeadon Tarnfield Park. The beauty of the Leeds Green Gateways Walk is that it enables you to take an interesting route joining up many green areas of Leeds and Otley and taking you along hidden alleys and snickets. From the panoramic views from the top of The Chevin and Rawdon Billing to the tranquillity of the River Aire you will be amazed at just how close to civilisation you are whilst retaining the rural feel of the walk. Leeds Green Gateways can be done as a hop on hop off walk, serviced by public transport that connects well to the route. You can start where you like and do as much or as little as you want. The guidebook is designed in sections to help facilitate this.
